However, to ensure they fit perfectly and look great, accurate measurements are essential. It’s actually pretty simple once you know how to do it, so let us guide you through the process of measuring for net curtains, so you can achieve that flawless finish in your windows.

Step 1: Gather Your Tools

Before you start measuring, gather the necessary tools:

  • A measuring tape
  • A pencil and paper (or a digital note app)
  • A ladder or step stool (for high windows)
  • A friend (optional, but helpful for larger windows)
  • A glass of wine (for when you’ve finished)

Step 2: Measure the Width

For pole-mounted nets:

  • Measure the pole from end to end.
  • Add an extra 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) on each side for fullness and to ensure the curtains can be drawn back completely.

For track-mounted curtains:

  • Measure the track.
  • Similar to pole-mounted curtains, add 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) on each side.

Final Width Calculation:

For a standard look, the total width should be 1.5 to 2 times the width of your pole or track, depending on how gathered you want your curtains to be.

Step 3: Measure the Drop

Determine where you want the net curtains to fall. Common lengths include:

If you’re using a curtain pole, measure from the top of the pole. If using a track, measure from the top of the track.
