A Slot Top is a simple, traditional way to hang net and voile curtains. A channel is sewn into the top of the curtain, allowing it to slide straight onto a curtain rod or net wire for a neat, gathered look.

Each product page tells you the maximum rod diameter the slot top will fit, so it's easy to check before you order.

What can I use with a Slot Top?

Slot Top curtains can be hung on a net wire, telescopic net rod or tension rod. If you already have a curtain rod or pole, simply check that its diameter matches the slot top size shown on the product page.

A Slot Top & Bottom heading is a great choice for doors and narrow windows where you want the curtain to stay neatly in place. With a channel at both the top and bottom, the curtain is held securely for an even gather and a tidy finish. Hung flat without any gather, it creates a clean, modern screen-like look.

What can I use with a Slot Top & Bottom?

Slot Top & Bottom curtains can be hung on a net wire, telescopic net rod or tension rod. If you already have a curtain rod or pole, simply check that its diameter matches the slot size shown on the product page.

Pencil Pleat is one of the most popular curtain headings, creating a classic, softly gathered finish. Also known as a Tape Top heading, it's available with either 2-inch or 3-inch heading tape.

The only difference is the depth of the tape. The 2-inch tape has two hook positions, while the 3-inch tape has three. We recommend the 3-inch tape for full-length curtains or drops over 150cm, as it helps create a more balanced look.

Your curtain will arrive with the heading tape left flat. Before hanging, simply knot the ends of the cords (this is important) and pull the cords to gather the curtain to the width of your track or pole.

For the best finish, we recommend using one curtain hook for every 10cm of track.

Measuring tip.

Fit your curtain track or pole before measuring. If you want to hide the track or pole, measure from above it to where you'd like the curtain to finish. If you'd prefer to show your track or pole, measure from the centre of the curtain glider down to your chosen finished drop. This will give you the most accurate measurement.
